Inviting others to collaborate in your team and organisation space

Overview

This article covers how to invite others to collaborate in your design or your organisation's space. Inviting others enables colleagues to work together in the Learning Designer or to give access to Course Companion. You will need unallocated active user seats to invite certain roles.

You can invite people in different ways based on the result you wish to see:

Contains

  • Invite others to your organisation - adding colleagues once you've signed up and created an organisation space.

Terminology

  • Organisation - your shared space to work with others, share designs and administer all users.
  • Learning Designer - the main Coursensu learning design platform, to plan, prepare and publish any type of course or learning experience.
  • Course Companion - the add-on that brings a virtual learning designer into your LMS.
  • Content Editor - an extension of the standard 'read-only' Contributor role which can also edit the learning content.
  • Contributor - any stakeholder you need to invite into a learning design to review and/or comment. Is otherwise a read-only role.

Invite others into your organisation

You can invite anyone with a shared link, this permits access to Review and Comment on your design. You can also invite team members to collaborate on your selected design or invite new team members.

Step: Navigate to your Team space via 'My team' from the User Menu

Once logged in, select your profile icon to open the User Menu

Step: Add the details of a colleague to invite

By default, all invited users are given the Contributor role - which is free but limited to view / read-only for designs they have been invited to. Any user can have this role.

Step: Select the role you wish to allocate for the newly added user

From the list of all users, you can now change (or allocate) the role for any seats remaining. If you need to add more seats, you can also do this from here.

Step: Your invited colleague will receive an email inviting them to your Organisation space in Coursensu.

Note: For this demo we called our Organisation space 'Coursensu' - yours will be called whatever brand, employer or organisation you have set yourself up as!
